HIGH-PERFORMANCE

ENDORSEMENT

Pilots are required to have a high-performance airplane endorsement in order to act as pilot-in-command (PIC) of a high-performance airplane.

This endorsement can be earned through ground and flight training, which focuses on aircraft systems, best practices for flying high-performance aircraft, and several operational skills. Training will prepare pilots for the more complicated systems that are associated with high-performance aircraft.

High-performance aircraft training takes 5-10 hours, depending on flight experience and type of aircraft used, and may be combined with complex airplane training if the aircraft meets both definitions.
